Trying to cast a movie can be very difficult due to type casting.
A perfect example of this is: Chris Hemsworth.Chris Hemsworth made his big film debut in the movie Thor. This is a fantasy/sci fi/action/adventure film and one that has made a prequel due to the marvel series being so popular.
Because the actor has made such a huge success he is now well know all over the world for playing this iconic role. This means that whatever roles Chris Hemsworth take son now whether its a scary horror movie or a quirky romantic comedy it will always be "Thor" playing these roles as well so type casting becomes extremely difficult and leaves actors making huge decisions on what jobs they do or do not want to take.
