My BBRFC Certificate
My BBFC rating
I have decided that the certificate of my thriller opening will be a 12. This is because the dark scenes and instant kidnapping may be distressing or scary to smaller children and so it would not be a film that they would want to watch. Also a conventional thriller would usually have fighting or certain affectionate scenes that parents with children under the age of 12 wouldn't want them to see. This neither means it will be full of swear words, blood and gore however because the certificate is still at a rather low age.
Also when the arm snatches the girl it can be quite jumpy and so would frighten smalll children. It is not really a family film and so this is why you would have to be 12 or over to watch it, also they will be able to understand and follow the movies plot a lot clearer. They is no point in watching a movie if you are too young to even understand the storyline so this certificate is also a guide for that.

Type- Casting
Type- casting
Trying to cast a movie can be very difficult due to type casting.
A perfect example of this is: Chris Hemsworth.
Chris Hemsworth made his big film debut in the movie Thor. This is a fantasy/sci fi/action/adventure film and one that has made a prequel due to the marvel series being so popular.
Because the actor has made such a huge success he is now well know all over the world for playing this iconic role. This means that whatever roles Chris Hemsworth take son now whether its a scary horror movie or a quirky romantic comedy it will always be "Thor" playing these roles as well so type casting becomes extremely difficult and leaves actors making huge decisions on what jobs they do or do not want to take.

Gender Representations
Females
Having a female as one of the leads in a movie can be a very smart thing to do. Not only will a big budget star like Scarlett Johansson bring her string of fans along too watch the movie it will also attract every man in the world as a very attractive lead female is a good object of desire and everyone wants to see her.
However on the other hand a women can be represented as a weak character so she needs a "hero" to come and save her because she cant protect herself; this is very stereotypical. Women can pose as pure and innocent because men underestimate them, they feel like they could beat a women at everything so it a production company wanted a misleading character they would probably choose a female as their lead character. Things you would expect to see a female role doing in a thriller movie is:

Things you would expect to see a female role doing in a thriller movie is:
- Limited clothing
- Make up all the time
- usually armed with weapons
- Are single so they can attract male lead
- strong minded
- independent
- a fighter
- intelligent
This is all part Mulvey's theory as the "Male Gaze" that women are just there for men to have something to look at and to be honest some character do go over the top with the skimpy clothes and make up. It is very stereotypical of everyone and not all movies do this sort of thing as it just happens their leads are attractive or fit so there are many films out there that go against the normal conventions.
Gender Representations
In most of the films these days thrillers or not people are beginning to cast a particular type of man. To be honest nobody wants to go and watch a film full of ugly people, so now companies battle to cast some of the hottest and biggest named stars their budgets can buy. Having someone like Zac Efron in your movie will draw a lot of female attention because of his handsome face and buff features. Also to have men in thriller dramas specifically, audiences will be looking out for certain key aspects because it would be really odd to have a weak hero in an action movie, here are some of those examples:
- Good strong physical appearance.
- Has to be fit
- Sexually attractiveness
- authoritative
- power
- a bad boy
Having somebody that can entice the audience and make them take their side whether they are the hero or the villain means the actor has succeeded in his job as he has managed to throw himself into a character and bring it to life through the art of film.

My Movie Pitch and the Treatment.
Here is discuss my movie ideas, how the plot will unfold, the production companies i would use and even things from locations to actors and actresses.
Treatment: Treatments read like a short story, except they are told in the present tense and describe events as they happen, it is a short snippet of a bigger production piece so companies can get the idea of what the film or screenplay will run like.
